CocoAndré is a Mexican-American family-owned chocolate shop located in Oak Cliff, Texas. Andrea and Cindy’s entrepreneurial journey began nearly 15 years ago after both experienced unexpected layoffs. With less than $1,000 between them, they transformed a challenge into an opportunity, creating a chocolate shop that honors their heritage, culture, and identity as Mexican-American Texan mothers.
For Andrea and Cindy, CocoAndré is about more than chocolate—it’s about family and connection. Cindy shares, “We want you to feel the love of home when you come through our doors.”
Andrea’s journey started in the 1980s when she took a part-time job at Dallas’ first chocolate shop. Her passion and dedication led to a 25-year career as a master chocolatier and head of production. Along the way, she became deeply inspired to explore her Mexican roots in cacao, blending her expertise with her heritage.
Cindy, meanwhile, was thriving in the construction industry, learning the intricacies of business operations, budgets, and team management. But when the economic downturn in 2009 left her unemployed, she joined forces with her mother to create CocoAndré. Cindy envisioned a space where Andrea’s unmatched talent as a chocolatier could flourish as an owner, not just an employee. Together, they turned a dream into reality, building a company that has become a symbol of resilience and creativity.
Today, CocoAndré is renowned for producing some of the finest hand-crafted chocolate delights, serving loyal customers from their quaint Oak Cliff shop to fans across America. Andrea, Cindy, and their dedicated team lovingly craft chocolates that create sweet memories to last a lifetime.
We see our customers more like family. We’re blessed and honored to share major life events with our clients – weddings, holidays and birthdays. Whether they spend a dollar or hundreds, they are family to us because they chose to walk through our doors and continue to support us like family too.
